Multilayer ceramic capacitors dominate BOMs. Key parameters: capacitance, voltage rating, dielectric (X5R/X7R/C0G), size (0402-1210) and tolerance. X7R/C0G are preferred for reliability.
Thick-film (general), thin-film (precision), and specialty (current sense, high voltage, anti-surge). Tolerance 1%/5%, TCR and power rating determine selection.
Power inductors for DC-DC need saturation current and DCR; RF inductors need Q and SRF. Check core material and temperature rise.
