The AMS1117 provides up to 1A output with a dropout voltage around 1.1V at full load. Fixed versions include 3.3V, 5.0V, 2.5V, 1.8V and 1.2V; adjustable version sets output with two resistors.
Available in SOT-223, SOT-89 and TO-252. SOT-223 is the most common for board-level regulation.
Used to derive 3.3V/1.8V rails from 5V in MCU boards, WiFi modules, sensors and audio circuits.
